‘Tis better to give than receive… How reciprocity empowers your Social Media Marketing

by Joyanne Sloan in [ allABOUT Social Media ]

Reciprocity is a relationship of mutual exchange. The relationship based on giving and receiving effectively creates an interdependence such as the one between you and your customers. Reciprocal relationships evolve because there is an advantage to each side. This is one of the unique attributes of the Naked Marketing MethodSM because it’s so rarely found in typical marketing.

The widespread lack is caused by the fact that suppliers erroneously (and almost universally) operate as though the product or service they provide constitutes the ENTIRE value proposition to the purchasing party.

That being the case, when it comes time to bring their offering to market, the offer itself receives the entire focus of the promotional campaign. As a result, the three dimensions of the people, purpose and passion that created and drives the business remain obscured. And what is hidden is therefore unable to be detected, much less considered or valued in the business exchange.

Don’t Be Boring!

by Barbara Keddy in [ allABOUT Marketing ]

If you’re having trouble attracting business, ask yourself if your marketing is attractive, exciting and engaging.  Come on now, be honest. Do you have pizzazz?

Or – if the truth were known – are you boring?

So much of what we see on the Internet and offline, is boring: dull copy-writing on websites, accompanied by cheap-looking graphics. It’s enough to make you cringe.

It’s time to look at your marketing with fresh, appraising eyes. Have you played it safe? Are you presenting a lively image?  Which will attract attention, do you think?

Five Ways to Tell If You Have Success Phobia

by Susan Brown in [ allABOUT Empowerment ]

What do snakes, spiders and success all have in common?  You may not believe this, but these all common sources of FEAR. Snakes, yes!  Spiders, yes!  But, success?  Yes, it happens.

There are many obvious ways you prevent or slow down your success. Not having clarity, focus, knowledge, and discipline are all pretty easy to spot.  Knowing whether you have a success phobia is not as easy to figure out.

To figure out whether you have it, let’s start with defining it.

It is “The disturbance of a person’s ability to comfortably handle achievement.” In other words, do you:

  • Avoid completing the final step to success
  • Downplay your successful accomplishment
  • Show ambition but don’t set goals

What are some other indicators that you have a fear of success? You will say things like:

#1 That’s not really me” or “That was luck…..a fluke.”

Downplaying your abilities or maintaining a false modesty does not build your personal power.  Your personal power is the quality that says you are capable and worthy of all that you’ve achieved.  High personal power is a foundational quality for success.

It’s a Blog…It’s a Website…It’s WordPress!

by Diana Nichols in [ allABOUT Websites ]

If you’ve been around the Web much lately, you’ve probably at least heard of WordPress. It’s been around since 2005 – quite a while in internet time – and is (to the best of my knowledge) the most widely used software for bloggers.

WordPress (yes, the ‘P’ is supposed to be capitalized) is what is called “open source” software. This means that the software is not encrypted, is available for free, and anyone is welcome to add to it, modify it, and use it for whatever they wish. It was originally written to help people easily create and update online diaries or journals – called web logs. (Which were then shortened to ‘blogs’.)

If you can remember a password and fill out a form, you can create a blog using WordPress. Seriously. No investment in dollars or learning a programming language. To try for yourself, simply head over to www.wordpress.com and set up a (free) account. Within a few minutes, you will have your own little place to say whatever is on your mind.

Low Cost and No Cost Strategies for Business Cards – Part 3

by Tana Torrano in [ allABOUT Biz ]

10 Ways to Use Your Card at Networking and Business Functions

1. Give your card to people you meet at networking functions. If they are

potential referral partners give them multiple cards—one to keep and others

to give away.

2. Use your Business Card as your name tag. Either use your actual card in a

business card name tag holder or lanyard or have a magnetic name tag made

using your business card as the template. The name tag should not include

all the contact information and address. It should include your name,

company name and logo.

3. Use your card to register for prizes or information at networking functions or

trade shows.

4. If you are presenting at an event make sure your card is at every seat along

with your marketing materials.

5. At a trade show display make sure your cards are displayed prominently and

are easy to take.

6. If you are hosting an event, make sure the participants exchange cards either

while they are doing introductions or make sure you get a copy and

reproduce them for all the attendees, including your card–first of course.

7. Use your card for door prize given by your company. Write your offer on

the back and give the card to the winner and have them contact you for their

prize.

Power Places to Network for All

by Stacia Robinson in [ Uncategorized ]

Power Places to Network for All

Do you feel like the places you network get you in front of the best people to build your business or career? Many times, people begin attending events with the idea of going to just “meet new people.” When they go, they do in fact, “meet new people,” but maybe their overall expectations don’t match the results. What happens next is that they go to less and less events and discontinue putting themselves in a position to get to know people that could very well influence their future. Since the main purpose of networking is to establish visibility and credibility, being around people who are already established makes sense.

There are two types of places to network that are vital to anyone committed to securing their professional & financial future. The first place is an organization in your industry and the second type is a service organization. The collective power of these places to network insures that one will always have endless opportunity and resources to tap into.
