I Can’t See You!
Just when I thought there was nothing left to say about business cards, I discovered another major point that needs to be made. Make sure your business cards are readable.
I know this point seems obvious, but just today when going through my recent cards to enter their information for follow-up I ended up with a stack of several cards that I can’t read. This is not just my failing eyesight but because the cards are printed on a dark background with dark text or very small white text.

One of the difficult truths we all face as authors is toiling away at your masterpiece, only to have it linger in the world of countless unread e-mails, newsletters, and well-intentioned articles. And while your finished piece may be nothing short of eloquent and compelling, if you don’t have a powerful headline, your writing may never find its way into the minds of your readers.
Even if you don’t consider yourself to be a genuine “author”, any writing you do for business purposes demands careful attention to your all-important headline. And updates on your Social Network accounts are really just like headlines; short, engaging text that should ultimately compel viewers to want to read more. After all, when the reader opens, consumes end enjoys what you’ve written, then and ONLY then, is there a chance that they might forward your work to their contacts.

The Naked Marketing Method
http://www.nakedmm.com
I am a self-starting DREAMer and DOer and a foe of the status quo. I’m alternately an unyielding super woman and pleasure-seeking muse.
Frequently irreverent and prone to colorful language, I’m utterly passionate about being an agent of change and fulfilling my duty to cast light upon the world of shadows.
What I want most is to be known and to know others intimately and for both of us to believe there is something incredibly special, noble and fabulous about each other.
Nurturing others makes me come alive and reminds me how much I need to do the same for me. I am secretly thrilled by my lover’s hands as he plays music or brushes our baby’s golden hair.
I mysteriously attract lost animals and endless piles of unfolded laundry. I complain bitterly about food scraps at the bottom of the sink and about people who don’t do what they say they will.
I’m learning to stop resisting chaos and that how I think things “should be” is an endless, dark illusion I swallowed out of ignorance. I cry often and laugh even more; choosing creativity over certainty and grace over struggle.
I’m drawn to bright, shiny objects including people who reach for awakeness and aliveness… who embody the unequaled power of compassion in action.”

Who do you need to meet? When I ask that question of people, the blank returned look is surprising. A blank look tells me that the person is uncomfortable or unsure of where they are headed. Not everyone has the blank look. Those that answer with enthusiasm are glad I asked!
There are several decisions that must be made before one can answer that question with confidence. The first decision is to know solidly what you want to do in your career or life. Once that decision is made, then one must next declare an industry that supports that career or lifestyle. That makes it easy to identify where to meet others with like interests and to get involved with purpose in organizations that support their gathering.
Now that you are attending organizational meetings, conferences, networking events and workshops, it helps to know before you go to at least know who you need to meet. Make a list of people who can mean something to you in your particular area of interest. Yes, go ahead and get a notebook and start writing down specific names and/or job titles of people that would make a difference for you to know.
